German Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia 2024

Identity for the German Pavilion 2024 at the 60th Biennale di Venezia. Under the title THRESHOLDS, the contribution to the German Pavilion 2024 narrates history and the future from various artistic positions.

THRESHOLDS are places where no one can stay, places that only exist because one thing has occurred and another still awaits.

Example of an ancient Palimpsest.

The design takes up the concept and presents itself in a keyvisual that is reminiscent of a palimpsest: a manuscript page from which the text has been scraped off in preparation for reuse in the form of another document. Remnants of letters remain visible and the movement of the keyvisual unites the past, present and future.
